Decent digital banking option

I recently got the 811 Edge Savings Account. The online opening was fairly smooth, though the Video KYC took a couple of tries to connect properly. The Mobile Banking App is intuitive for bill pay and money transfer, which I use often. I also ordered the Physical Debit Card; it arrived in about 6 days which was reasonable. I do wish the interest rate on savings was a bit higher, but for a digital-first bank, it works well for daily transactions. Customer service through the app chat was responsive when I had a question about ActivMoney.

Easy account opening

I opened an 811 Zero Balance Savings Account. The Video KYC was quick, maybe 10 minutes. Got my virtual debit card right away. Started using the mobile banking app for UPI payments that same day. Good experience overall.

hey quick question, is the zero balance account actually zero balance? or do they like, sneak in some minimum balance requirement later?

Yeah, it's actually zero balance. I've had mine for ages and never had to worry about it. It's one of the main reasons I picked it over a regular bank account.

Afaik, it's truly zero balance for the 811 account. Just make sure you're getting the right one when you sign up. There are a few different types.

Anyone know what docs I need for the video kyc thing? Just my Aadhar and PAN or is there more to it?

Yep, Aadhar and PAN are the main ones. Maybe just have your phone ready and a good internet connection. It's pretty straightforward.

I think you also need a white background and good lighting. They might ask you to hold up the docs to the camera. It took me like 5 mins tops.
